Dr. S. M. Anas is a distinguished researcher and Assistant Professor (Contractual) at the Department of Building Engineering and Technology, School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, and a Researcher at Jamia Millia Islamia. He holds a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from Jamia Millia Islamia, with a focus on the blast performance of walls. His Master's degree is in Earthquake Engineering from the same institution.

His research encompasses blast mitigation, structural strengthening, and predictive modeling of dynamic loads.
