Dr. Rezaei received the BSc and MSc in Mining Exploitation from Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman and Tarbiat Modares University in September 2005 and January 2009, respectively. Then, he received PhD in Rock Mechanics from the University of Tehran in January 2015. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mining Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Kurdistan, Sanandaj, Iran, where he teaches rock mechanics, surface and underground mining, underground excavations, application of intelligent methods in mining engineering and blasting courses. Also, he was Head of the Department of Mining Engineering from 2017 to 2022. At present, he is the Research Vice Chancellor of Faculty of Engineering. His research interests are design of underground mining and underground excavations, design of open-pit and underground blasting, 2D and 3D characterization of the rocks properties, slope stability analysis and smarting the mine operations. He has been involved in mining engineering, rock mechanics, tunneling and geotechnical research for more than 15 years. He is the author and co-author of more than 90 scientific papers (conference and Journal) and two books, reviewer of more than 50 international journals, and Editorial Board Member of BOEG journal. For his great contributions, he is recognized as the World’s Top 2% Scientists (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024) in the Mining Engineering subject, Stanford University.
